The Senior Security Engineer joins the IT Operations team in Philadelphia, reporting to the Head of Infrastructure and Information Security and working closely with the CISO. This role leads efforts to strengthen enterprise security, especially across cloud platforms, AI systems, applications, endpoints, and identity infrastructure. The position requires hands-on technical leadership, architectural oversight, and collaboration with both internal teams and external security partners.
Role overview
This engineer acts as the primary technical lead for security incident response, coordinating internal resources and third-party partners to manage, contain, and recover from security events. The role includes readiness to handle incidents outside of standard business hours. Responsibilities extend to mentoring team members and overseeing architectural decisions and external partner relationships.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement security architecture patterns for Azure and AWS cloud environments, as well as on-premises and hybrid systems.
- Lead security design reviews for infrastructure and application projects.
- Engineer and optimize enterprise security controls, including endpoint protection, threat detection and response, network security, email security, data protection, cloud access governance, and privileged access management.
- Define and apply Zero Trust security principles across the organization.
Cloud security focus: Azure
- Advance Azure security, including governance with Entra ID, RBAC design, Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), Defender for Cloud, Defender for Cloud Apps, and Private Link architecture.
