About Prophet Security
Prophet Security builds an AI-native security operations platform to help security teams detect, investigate, and respond to threats more efficiently. The platform aims to reduce alert overload and unify security workflows. The team includes experienced professionals from organizations such as Abnormal Security, Expel, Mandiant, and McAfee. As an early team member, expect to influence product direction and customer solutions as the company grows.
Role Overview: Senior Software Engineer - Agent Engineering
This role focuses on developing and improving Prophet’s autonomous AI agent, which triages alerts, investigates incidents, and recommends actions within customer environments. The work involves analyzing missed detections, troubleshooting integration issues, and designing workflows to connect different parts of a customer’s security setup. Responsibilities range from hands-on coding to meeting directly with SOC leaders to clarify gaps between the agent’s outputs and customer expectations. The job centers on engineering within real-world security environments.
Why Join the Agent Engineering Team
- Founder-level experience: Work closely with customers on product discovery, ship features under real constraints, and learn to balance building versus prioritizing. These are valuable skills for anyone considering a future as a founder.
- AI applied to real security challenges: Implement AI agents that address actual threats in live customer environments, not just theoretical scenarios.
- Direct collaboration: Work side-by-side with SOC teams, observe their challenges in the field, and deliver solutions quickly. Insights from these interactions will help guide Prophet’s product roadmap.
- Shape the team’s direction: As part of the founding group, help define processes and strategies rather than simply following established routines.
What You Will Do
- Own the technical delivery process for customers, including discovery, scoping, production deployment, ongoing improvement, and expansion.
