Role overview
This Senior Software Engineer position in Munich focuses on building software tools for environmental impact assessment in manufacturing. The work involves translating production data into Lifecycle Assessments (LCA) and supporting Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) that comply with international standards. The goal: turn complex environmental science and ISO/EN standards into software that is clear, auditable, and easy to use.
Ownership is a core part of this role. The Senior Software Engineer defines, delivers, and measures the impact of product features, often working directly with users and stakeholders. High autonomy and accountability are expected.
Key responsibilities
- Take features from concept to deployment: engage with manufacturers, build tools to improve environmental performance, and refine solutions using user feedback.
- Lead the expansion of LCA and EPD generation into new product categories and markets by identifying gaps, setting priorities, and delivering solutions.
- Collaborate with LCA experts to translate complex standards into maintainable software abstractions.
