We are primarily an in-office company, with an expectation that employees work from our Applied Intuition office five days a week. However, we also value flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly, which may include occasional remote work or adjusting hours to support family commitments.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled software architect to take charge of the fallback stack for our Level 4 trucking program. You will be responsible for defining how our vehicles assess uncertainty, execute minimal risk maneuvers, and establish an architecture that is scalable across both trucking and future autonomy programs.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Define the architecture for the Level 4 trucking fallback stack, which includes interfaces for perception, behavior, planning, control, and the primary autonomy stack.
  • Develop strategies for degraded driving, minimal risk maneuvers, and transitions to remote assistance.
  • Specify and evaluate algorithms that detect autonomy degradation and initiate suitable fallback behaviors or remote intervention.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers in behavior, planning, and perception to align safety logic and trajectories with fallback requirements and operational design domain (ODD) constraints.
