Role Overview: Senior Software Engineer, Windows/Desktop Applications

This role focuses on building and shaping Speechify’s native Windows desktop applications. The work centers on delivering accessible, high-quality software that serves a diverse user base.

What You Will Do

  • Design, architect, and develop native Windows desktop apps using Windows App SDK, WinUI (or similar frameworks), C#, XAML, and at times C++.
  • Set and maintain standards for Windows desktop development with attention to architecture, performance, memory management, responsive UI, cross-version compatibility (Windows 10/11+), and maintainability.
  • Drive accessibility by integrating relevant APIs so the application is usable for everyone, including people with disabilities.
  • Work closely with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and other teams to shape features and influence the Windows platform roadmap.
  • Manage the full feature lifecycle, from initial idea through development, release, and ongoing maintenance, to ensure reliability and quality.
  • Investigate and resolve complex technical issues, including bugs, performance bottlenecks, and compatibility challenges, while suggesting effective architectural improvements.
