Join Zoox as a Senior Software Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in enhancing cost optimization and driving efficiency within our cutting-edge High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure. As we advance our autonomous vehicle initiatives, effective resource management and cost efficiency are paramount to our success. You will spearhead the modernization of our HPC platform, leveraging state-of-the-art technologies such as Ray.io, SLURM, and Kubernetes. Your primary focus will be to maximize resource utilization, minimize waste, and lower cloud expenditures while ensuring rapid developer productivity.
Our HPC services are integral to the development workflows across all Zoox software teams, encompassing data engineering, AI model training in Perception, Planner, Prediction, Simulation, and beyond. Your contributions will directly influence Zoox's financial performance through tangible cost savings and enhanced operational efficiency.
This role offers significant autonomy, allowing you to shape Zoox's computing economics strategy both on a technical and organizational level. Collaborating closely with stakeholders from Autonomy and Software teams, you will balance performance goals with budgetary constraints, applying FinOps best practices and the latest cost optimization methodologies.
