About the Team

The Billing Engineering team oversees a wide range of complex functions spanning 70 services. As DigitalOcean accelerates its growth and targets a broader market, the demands on our billing platform have surged. This team is crucial for operational efficiency, allowing our billing platform engineers to focus on enhancing platform reliability and developing customer-centric features.

The Opportunity

We are on the lookout for highly driven and skilled engineers in Hyderabad. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless functionality of our billing platform, offering technical assistance, managing billing operations, and driving automation for improved efficiency. This is a thrilling opportunity to contribute to the formation of a new team and make a substantial impact on our company's trajectory.

What You’ll Do:

  • Triage and resolve escalated billing support tickets, including issues related to invoicing discrepancies, collections, and taxation. Serve as the first point of contact for incoming bug reports.
  • Take charge of core billing platform operations, including managing credits, discounts, promotions, and commitment deals; liaising with the Tax team on taxation regions; overseeing SaaS Marketplace vendor ledgers; coordinating refunds and write-offs with the Revenue Accounting team; and supporting month-end compliance reporting.
  • DevOps: Partner with the Billing Architect to enhance operational excellence and platform stability.
  • Product Revenue Assurance: Strengthen revenue assurance tools and synthetic testing to proactively detect and mitigate potential revenue leaks.
  • New Product Launches: Manage the operational aspects of new product launches for existing products, closely collaborating with product teams to ensure timely delivery.
  • Develop and maintain automation tools to streamline billing operations.
