About the job
Lambda, a leader in AI cloud infrastructure, empowers tens of thousands of customers, from pioneering AI researchers to large-scale enterprises. Our mission is to make computing as accessible as electricity, giving everyone the capability of superintelligence. If you're passionate about shaping the future of AI cloud technology, we invite you to join our team.
This role mandates in-office presence in our San Francisco location four days a week; Lambda’s designated work-from-home day is Tuesday.
Role Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer focusing on our Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform, you will be responsible for developing robust, secure, and user-friendly access control systems across all our products. Your expertise will be vital in implementing core IAM features including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), authentication mechanisms, and identity lifecycle management, ensuring our systems are scalable and secure.
This position is suited for engineers who thrive in security-sensitive environments, appreciate the importance of correctness and usability, and can independently lead complex feature developments from design through to production. IAM is pivotal for Lambda's enterprise capabilities and will influence how our clients securely access computational resources, data, and infrastructure at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement essential IAM components, including identity models and authentication workflows.
Develop and enhance enterprise IAM features such as RBAC, Single Sign-On (SSO), SCIM provisioning, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and audit logging.
Lead the complete delivery of IAM features from technical design to production rollout and ongoing monitoring.
Collaborate with teams across various functions including API Experience, Billing, Core Cloud Platform, Console Experience, Infrastructure, and Security to ensure cohesive identity and access patterns.
Contribute to API design and maintain consistency in identity and permission semantics across services.
Engage in design reviews and provide insightful feedback on system architecture and trade-offs.
Diagnose and resolve complex production issues in systems critical to security.
Enhance the reliability, observability, and operational workflows for IAM services.
