Your Impact

Law enforcement agencies require training systems driven by actual field performance data. Over the past few years, we have accumulated and validated this data, creating actionable insights that trainers can utilize to improve encounters, making them more effective, less harmful, and safer for all involved. While we have already deployed basic models, your role will involve not just delivering these models but also establishing a strategic pipeline to consistently provide data products to our customers for years to come. What begins in research must evolve into production-grade, dependable, and reusable solutions.

Our small, highly skilled team is integrated within Axon's TASER division. Our work encompasses hardware telemetry and behavioral science; we analyze TASER device data, develop models that inform training recommendations for law enforcement agencies, and deploy analytical tools to deliver these insights to those who can act on them. Our analyses influence top-level executives, and our models become integral user-facing features. We are committed to achieving Axon’s ambitious goal: to reduce fatal officer-involved shootings by 50% in the next decade.

The head of product previously served as a Staff Engineer. Our Technical Program Manager led a 60-person engineering organization. Both product managers possess quantitative academic backgrounds in applied mathematics and engineering. Our program manager for TREND is a former state police lieutenant with over 30 years of law enforcement experience. Our designer collaborates closely with the team instead of being isolated from it. We have built this team to encompass the full spectrum of engineering, data, product, and domain expertise, making this hire a critical, strategic addition.

This environment is far from siloed , however, it does require you to be technically self-sufficient, as you may not always have another Software Engineer present. What you gain in return is a team with a depth of experience that surpasses most engineering settings you’ve encountered.
