The Money team's mission at Databricks is to optimize the value that our customers gain from their data investments. We accomplish this with innovative commercialization strategies and state-of-the-art engineering. Our team guarantees timely, precise, and customizable billing along with tools for budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization. We deliver a seamless billing experience for all our customers, regardless of whether they are large enterprises or individual developers, across various pricing plans and cloud providers (AWS, GCP, and Azure).
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Money team, you will play a pivotal role in the entire billing process, including usage ingestion, metering, pricing, credits, promotions, payments, usage reporting, and budgeting. Your contributions will be essential in democratizing data by bringing Databricks products to market. By collaborating with marketing, product teams, commercialization specialists, data scientists, IT, and customer support, you will standardize billing experiences across major cloud providers, providing our customers with a cohesive 'sky computation' experience. This role will leverage the latest Databricks products and tools within our ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and oversee Money systems and services, commercializing all Databricks products and offerings.
- Develop innovative mechanisms that facilitate and support diverse pricing strategies, including Pay-As-You-Go, commissions, credits, trials, and promotions.
- Improve engineering and infrastructure efficiency, reliability, accuracy, and response times, covering CI/CD processes, testing frameworks, data quality assurance, end-to-end reconciliation, and anomaly detection.
- Collaborate with commercialization experts to devise and implement innovative pricing strategies and plans.
- Utilize AI and LLMs to drive innovation in cost insights, forecasting, and optimization across various cloud providers.
- Become proficient in utilizing Databricks Data + AI tools.
