Role overview
The Senior Software Engineer - Product Development will focus on building the core technology behind ElectronX’s exchange platform. This includes designing and implementing trading infrastructure such as order matching, market data distribution, trading interfaces, APIs, surveillance, and analytics pipelines. The position requires making architectural decisions that balance performance, reliability, security, and compliance with CFTC regulations.
In addition to hands-on engineering, this role involves mentoring new engineers, shaping team principles, and collaborating closely with Product, Design, Compliance, Infrastructure, and early customers to translate market needs into production-ready systems.

Key responsibilities
- Design and implement the trading engine, order matching system, and market data distribution platform.
- Develop and improve customer-facing trading interfaces.
- Create APIs and integrations for market participants, clearinghouses, and data vendors.
- Build systems for real-time market surveillance and monitoring.
- Develop internal administrative tools and dashboards for operations and compliance teams.
- Construct scalable data pipelines for market data, trade reporting, and analytics.
