Role overview
The Senior Software Engineer (UI/UX) position is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This role serves as a lead individual contributor, focused on developing and maintaining web applications using React and Angular. Collaboration with UX Directors is a core part of the job, ensuring that technical solutions meet high standards for usability, accessibility, and visual quality. The position bridges the gap between design and engineering, contributing to both the look and function of Appspace’s products.
What you will do
- Core engineering: Write, refine, and review clean, efficient, and maintainable code in React and Angular, using advanced AI-driven development methods. Tackle complex requirements and optimize for performance.
- UX and engineering collaboration: Work with the Director of UX to implement detailed user interfaces, ensuring design intentions and interaction patterns are accurately realized.
- Component development: Build and optimize reusable frontend components and libraries, making accessibility a default consideration. Ensure strong performance across various browsers.
- Technical strategy: Participate in discussions with the Development Lead to estimate work and address complex frontend architecture challenges, such as managing focus in single-page applications.
- Quality and performance: Write unit-testable code and use modern web technologies, including Service Workers and Local Storage, to deliver a fast and seamless experience.
- Problem solving: Identify and resolve UI/UX bottlenecks and bugs that could affect the user experience.
