Role Overview: Senior Software Engineer – Windows/Desktop Applications
Location: Austin, TX, USA
What You Will Do
- Lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop apps using Windows App SDK, WinUI or similar frameworks, with C#, XAML, and C++ as needed.
- Establish and maintain best practices for Windows desktop development, focusing on code structure, performance, memory management, responsive UI, and compatibility across Windows 10 and 11.
- Drive accessibility by integrating and validating support for accessibility APIs, ensuring UI controls, focus management, keyboard navigation, and screen-reader compatibility.
- Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and other stakeholders to shape feature planning, UI/UX architecture, and the long-term strategy for the Windows platform.
- Manage the full lifecycle of features: from conception and design through implementation, testing, release, and ongoing maintenance, with a focus on quality and consistency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex bugs, performance problems, memory leaks, and compatibility issues, recommending architectural or design improvements as needed.
