Your work will span LLM infrastructure, product features, and AI tools, allowing you to operate with full independence and minimal oversight.WHAT YOU’LL DOTake full ownership of AI-driven product features from conception through deployment and performance analysis.Design, construct, and optimize production-level LLM systems including RAG pipelines, AI agents, embedding workflows, evaluation frameworks, and fine-tuning processes.Make critical architectural and design decisions for backend services, databases (SQL and vector), APIs, and cloud infrastructure.Engage deeply with the business domain (marketing, SEO, GEO, content automation) to make informed product and engineering decisions.Link every engineering decision to user outcomes, prioritizing business impact over technical sophistication.Collaborate closely with founders and cross-functional teams, functioning as a product-aware engineer rather than merely following specifications.MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONSBackend Engineering Fundamentals: Expert in Python as the primary language.Strong understanding of system architecture, API development, SQL and vector databases, and cloud infrastructure.Production LLM Experience (2+ Years):Experience in building and deploying real-world production systems utilizing LLMs, RAG pipelines, agents, embeddings, evaluations, or fine-tuning.A clear understanding of model limitations and the ability to articulate the distinctions between RAG and fine-tuning, along with the appropriate contexts for their application.Independent Ownership:Able to define vague problems, develop solutions, and measure their impact autonomously.Proven track record of independently shipping products and iterating based on user and business feedback.Domain-Diving Instinct:Willingness and capacity to learn the business domain (marketing, SEO, GEO, content) thoroughly enough to make informed product decisions.This quality is highly valued; we seek engineers who grasp the rationale behind their work.Business-First Thinking:Regularly connects engineering choices to user outcomes and metrics related to revenue and retention.Questions whether a decision benefits customers before prioritizing technical elegance.NICE-TO-HAVE:Contributions to open-source projects or published technical articles.
