About the job

Senior Spacecraft Systems Analysis Engineer

Join Aetherflux, a pioneering company redefining the orbital economy by leveraging innovative satellite technologies. Our satellites, operating in Low Earth Orbit, harness sunlight to facilitate advanced capabilities including the transmission of energy via infrared lasers, on-orbit computing, and secure, high-bandwidth data delivery. By revolutionizing energy and data distribution in space, we are paving the way for unprecedented operational methods both in space and on Earth.

Founded in 2024 by Baiju Bhatt, co-founder of Robinhood, Aetherflux is backed by premier investors and staffed by experts from leading aerospace and defense sectors. We are rapidly tackling complex technical challenges to create a new category of space infrastructure.

The Role

We are searching for a Senior Spacecraft Systems Analysis Engineer to lead impactful modeling, simulation, and performance analysis for our satellite platforms. This multidisciplinary position requires you to provide critical insights that will influence spacecraft subsystem designs through thorough analysis and comprehensive system-level thinking.

Bring your deep expertise in one or more areas such as structural, loads and dynamics, thermal, radiation, reliability, power, MMOD (micrometeoroid and orbital debris), fluids, or optical/brightness analysis, while maintaining a robust understanding of how these systems interact at the spacecraft level. This is a high-growth opportunity where you can take ownership of essential analyses that directly impact spacecraft operations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct system-level modeling and simulations to assess spacecraft performance across various subsystems.
  • Develop and manage analyses in one or more domains: structural, thermal, radiation, reliability, power, MMOD, fluids, or optical/brightness.
  • Perform trade studies and sensitivity analyses to guide design decisions and enhance system performance, mass, and reliability.
  • Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, GNC, and software teams to inform design and integration strategies.
  • Establish and uphold analysis-driven requirements, margins, and verification methodologies.
  • Interpret simulation outcomes and convert findings into actionable engineering insights.
  • Assist with test planning and model correlation to ensure alignment with analysis predictions.
