About the role

Join MongoDB as a Senior Staff Engineer and take the lead in designing, building, and managing our internal and external Observability stack. Our observability solutions play a crucial role for tens of thousands of customers, enabling them to monitor their database clusters effectively and generate actionable alerts to protect vital workloads. This is your chance to be part of a dedicated team that oversees all observability systems, including metrics, logs, traces, and alerts for MongoDB.

With the rapid growth of MongoDB Atlas and its infrastructure, the need for high-cardinality observability data is more significant than ever. Our systems must manage billions of metrics time series while processing petabytes of logs and events. You will work with technologies such as VictoriaMetrics, Splunk, Flink, WarpStream/Kafka, Java, Golang, and Fluentbit. As a key contributor, you will collaborate closely with other Software Engineering (SWE) and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to promote best practices in service monitoring and instrumentation. This role is highly collaborative, and you will manage critical internal infrastructure at MongoDB.

We foster a strong culture of diversity, inclusivity, and teamwork. If you're a deeply technical leader eager to work in a collaborative environment and apply your low-level systems expertise to enhance a widely-used database infrastructure, we invite you to join us. Together, let's build a faster, more reliable, and exceptionally observable database system.
