The Role
In the role of Senior Staff Systems Engineer within the Air Vehicle group, you will focus on Mechanical Systems. You will engage with various systems including Landing Gear, Cabin, Closures, Environmental Control, Airframe, and Wiring Systems, taking on the responsibility as the Systems Engineer for one of these areas. This position allows you to bridge the gap between high-level aircraft requirements and detailed component design, ensuring seamless interfaces. Your confidence and eagerness to collaborate with multiple disciplines across the organization will be paramount to your success.
What you’ll do:
- Collaborate with diverse engineering teams to design high-reliability, safety-critical systems for aircraft.
- Lead the preparation of reports to validate system readiness for key milestone reviews.
- Serve as the primary contact for system-level documentation and reporting.
- Drive change management initiatives within a complex product structure.
- Lead efforts to:
- Conduct operational and functional analyses,
- Define and decompose system requirements with traceability through overall system architecture,
- Establish and manage technical/programmatic performance metrics (cost, weight, performance objectives),
- Ensure full compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with technical disciplines to develop verification plans, support verification/test planning, and conduct assessments to demonstrate compliance with system requirements.
