Role overview

The Senior Staff Technical Program Manager - Vehicle Systems Architecture partners directly with the Vehicle Systems Architecture lead. This position translates broad technical vision into coordinated, actionable program plans and ensures execution across engineering teams. Serving as the bridge between strategy and delivery, the role requires strong technical expertise, significant experience managing complex programs, and the ability to align cross-functional groups toward shared objectives.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the strategic partner to the Vehicle Systems Architecture lead, turning high-level technical and architectural strategies into detailed program plans across multiple teams.
  • Guide the development, prioritization, and ongoing refinement of the vehicle technical roadmap with stakeholders, keeping product goals in focus.
  • Develop and manage the integrated master plan for major vehicle system deliverables, collaborating with engineering to break down complex initiatives into clear strategies, milestones, and dependencies.
  • Act as a technical liaison and accountability partner among stakeholders at Rivian, Volkswagen Group, and industry collaborators to synchronize roadmaps and architectural deliverables.
  • Build and enhance processes and communication channels to improve execution efficiency, support cross-functional collaboration, and centralize program status updates.
  • Identify and manage technical risks at the vehicle level, address cross-functional dependencies and trade-offs, lead mitigation efforts, and ensure transparent escalation of issues.
