Key Responsibilities:Lead the development of critical structures, including mass-efficient transportable shielding systems and high-temperature materials. Conduct trade studies and devise designs that align with program requirements. Perform detailed thermomechanical and dynamic analyses to assess structural integrity using both analytical methods and finite element analysis tools. Develop and implement manufacturing and assembly instructions, along with test plans. Manage the Bill of Materials (BOM) and establish relationships with suppliers for component sourcing. Oversee subassembly design, manufacturing, and testing schedules. Conduct risk analysis (FMEA) for subsystems. Collaborate with engineers from various disciplines, providing expertise and constructive feedback. Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Civil, or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution. A minimum of 6 years of experience in structural design. At least 4 years of experience in performing stress analysis using both hand calculations and finite element analysis tools (e.g., Abaqus, Ansys, FEMAP). Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with CAD software for multi-component assembly design (NX or similar). Radiant Industries is on the lookout for an accomplished Senior Structural Engineer to spearhead the design and development of essential structures within our innovative Kaleidos project. In this pivotal role, you will tackle unique engineering challenges to create efficient and robust structures capable of sustaining fission reactions, even under extreme temperature conditions and stringent volumetric constraints.

Your responsibilities will encompass conducting trade studies, selecting appropriate materials, performing comprehensive structural analyses, as well as overseeing assembly, integration, and testing processes. Your contributions will be instrumental in propelling the launch of the first new commercial reactor design in over half a century by the year 2026.
