About the job

Join our dynamic Data Center practice as a Senior Structural Engineer specializing in hyperscale and colocation data center facility design. We are looking for a candidate who possesses deep technical knowledge in large-scale concrete and steel structures, has a successful history of delivering fast-paced technology and industrial projects, and is passionate about implementing low-carbon and resilient design strategies.

This role provides the flexibility of a remote work arrangement and can be performed from various locations across the U. S. where AECOM has an office.

While primarily remote, occasional travel may be necessary for client meetings, key project milestones, onsite collaboration sessions, or other essential activities. Such travel will be planned in advance and is expected to be infrequent.

AECOM stands as a leader in the global data center consulting industry, with strong teams in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. In this role, you will collaborate with teams worldwide on high-profile, fast-paced data center projects for esteemed global clients. This position offers hands-on experience, client interaction, and significant opportunities for career advancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead structural design and analysis for various data center buildings, including hyperscale and colocation facilities.
  • Generate design documentation for tilt-up concrete panels, precast structures, steel framing systems, and both deep and shallow foundations.
  • Coordinate design deliverables with architectural, civil, MEP, and construction teams to align with project goals and client expectations.
  • Supervise the preparation of construction documents, specifications, and calculations, ensuring quality, compliance with codes, and technical excellence.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
  • Engage with clients, contractors, and review authorities to resolve technical inquiries and design clarifications.
  • Support business development efforts, proposal writing, and conceptual structural designs for new opportunities.
  • Travel as needed for project-related events, including client meetings and site assessments.
