ResponsibilitiesPropose and implement enhancements to systems and network configurations; establish hardware and software requirements for these improvements. Administer and maintain computer networks and related computing environments, encompassing hardware, systems software, applications, and configurations. Oversee systems, virtualization hosts, and peripheral devices for performance, reliability, and security; identify when adjustments are necessary and coordinate with technical support personnel and vendors. Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues; troubleshoot malfunctions, replace defective components, escalate complex issues as needed, and research long-term solutions. Design, configure, and execute tests across the IT stack (systems, endpoints), networking, and virtual infrastructure. Manage identity and access tasks: resolve security/access issues and uphold the integrity of access control systems; utilize automation to facilitate these processes.

The IT team at Docker is responsible for creating and managing the infrastructure and services that empower our global, remote-first organization to operate efficiently, securely, and collaboratively. The Senior Systems Administrator plays a vital role as a technical authority and cross-functional leader, assisting in the design, implementation, and upkeep of the systems and network environments that ensure Docker remains reliable, compliant, and scalable during its growth. This position takes the lead on significant infrastructure projects, provides mentorship to peers, and influences IT policies and standards across the company.

As a Senior Systems Administrator at Docker, you will be tasked with designing, administering, fortifying, and continually enhancing our compute, storage, virtualization, and networking environments. You will guarantee operational excellence across Linux, macOS, Windows, and virtualized platforms; monitor performance and security; and spearhead complex infrastructure modernization initiatives. In addition, you will mentor fellow IT team members and collaborate with security, compliance, and engineering teams to provide reliable, scalable services for a global workforce.
