What We Need
We are in search of a seasoned Senior Game Designer with a commitment to high-quality standards and a fervor for crafting unforgettable and authentic player experiences in sports. The Senior Game Designer will be responsible for developing feature designs for our core gameplay and will collaborate with other designers and teams to ensure the successful implementation of these features. This role reports directly to the Lead Designer (Core Fantasy).
What You’ll Do
- Act as the ‘Product Owner’ for significant features of our core gameplay.
- Gain a deep understanding of our target audience, product objectives, and competitive landscape to prototype, iterate, and validate the ‘Core Fantasy’ vision.
- Lead the design strategy for your designated game area, working closely with Engineers, Animators, Artists, and Producers to realize your vision.
- Collaborate with the Design Director to translate the ‘Core Fantasy’ vision into actionable feature designs and partner with the QA team to enhance the game experience.
- Assess progress and game quality while collaborating with the design and production teams on execution strategies.
- Champion the player experience, ensuring the player's perspective is integral to all decision-making processes.
- Continuously evaluate the software by managing, refining, and prioritizing the backlog.
- Mentor junior designers, contributing to their growth and development.
What Will Make You A Great Fit
- Over 5 years of experience as a Senior Systems Designer in the AAA gaming industry.
- A strong passion for sports and sports video games.
- Demonstrated experience in mentoring fellow designers.
- Eagerness to take on ‘Game Area Owner’ responsibilities throughout the development process.
- A passion for and knowledge of creating player-driven narratives and systemic design.
