Key Responsibilities
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of virtual servers and operating systems, including block, file, and object storage, alongside data protection mechanisms.
- Expertise in installing and configuring high availability compute solutions that are integral to business-critical operations.
- Align system designs with the broader Ensono strategic objectives.
- Utilize various scripting languages to create automated solutions and reporting tools.
- Collaborate with team members to design robust computer system configurations.
- Document and implement procedures for applying operating system patches, code, and firmware updates across systems infrastructure.
- Take an active role in design meetings focused on client disaster recovery planning.
- Demonstrate proficiency in operating system installation procedures.
- Configure storage and data protection systems effectively.
- Investigate system vulnerabilities and document findings for future reference, implementing necessary corrective actions as required.
- Create guidelines and procedures for systems management, emphasizing process and efficiency enhancements.
- Monitor system performance and tune configurations to mitigate issues and potential bottlenecks.
- Prepare regular reports related to system capacity and utilization.
- Design and implement advanced networking configurations within virtual server environments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree with 6 years of experience; equivalent work experience will also be considered.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in administering Windows operating system environments.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in administering VMware environments.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Linux, specifically RHEL or other Linux distributions.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritizing resources and timelines effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A results-oriented team player committed to achieving team objectives.
- Experience with system configuration automation using scripting languages such as Perl, Python, Bash, or DevOps tools like Chef or Puppet.
- Ability to mentor technical operations personnel in relevant technologies as necessary.
- Understanding of the competitive landscape from both business and technical perspectives is advantageous.
- Experience with AWS in designing, provisioning, monitoring, and managing environments is a significant plus.
