Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver expert technical support to VFX Artists utilizing Linux workstations.
- Guide and mentor Technical Engineers, fostering their professional development within the department.
- Oversee the maintenance of server room and colocation facility equipment in collaboration with Technology Engineers.
- Design, manage, and troubleshoot network infrastructures, focusing on Layer 2/3 network switches.
- Maintain and support physical security systems and applications to ensure optimal performance.
- Install, deploy, and troubleshoot various VFX tools including Flame, Maya, Nuke, and Baselight.
- Administer and uphold infrastructure that includes Linux render nodes, Isilon storage, Linux servers, workstations, network equipment, and virtual machines.
- Take ownership of diverse projects involving evaluation, installation, development, and decommissioning, supporting the Technology team.
- Manage preventative maintenance schedules effectively.
- Possess knowledge of relevant security technologies and processes, including encryption and authentication methods.
- Demonstrate understanding of virtualization, containerization, and cloud computing technologies.
- Upgrade and configure infrastructure systems and software as required.
- Support and mentor junior team members to enhance their skills.
