Currently, we are seeking a Systems Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team supporting the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) M-Code Aviation Receiver (MAR) Joint Program Office (JPO) based at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH.
The AFLCMC MAR JPO is responsible for managing systems that deliver precise positioning, navigation, and timing information to various Department of Defense (DoD) weapon systems. This includes, but is not limited to, Software Defined User Equipment (SDUE), Miniaturized Airborne GPS Receiver (MAGR) 2000, Embedded GPS/Inertial Navigation System (EGI), Defense Advanced GPS Receiver (DAGR), GPS Antenna System 1 (GAS-1), Advanced Digital Antenna Production System (ADAP), GPS Antennas, Antenna Electronics (AE), Resilient Embedded GPS/INS (R-EGI), Military GPS User Equipment (MGUE), Air Force Vanguard Transition programs, and alternative navigation solutions.
Several of these systems are currently in initial development, while many others are undergoing substantial modernization efforts to address emerging threats, enhance supportability, improve long-term resiliency, and adopt open architecture standards along with digital engineering best practices. Ongoing modernization initiatives include the MAGR-2K and EGI receiver systems in support of aircraft modernization efforts, with rapid development for R-EGI and SDUE utilizing innovative acquisition methods.
This position is anticipated to commence in May 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement systems engineering principles across the entire life cycle of MAR systems, from requirements definition through development, testing, fielding, and sustainment.
- Transform operational and mission requirements into clear, traceable system, subsystem, and interface specifications.
- Create, review, and oversee system specifications, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and technical baselines.
- Conduct trade studies and technical analyses to assess alternative designs, architectures, and technologies.
- Ensure comprehensive requirements traceability throughout design, development, and implementation processes.
