About Voyant Photonics
Located in the vibrant New York City, Voyant Photonics is pioneering the future of machine perception through groundbreaking LiDAR devices that are compact enough to fit in the palm of your hand yet powerful enough to deliver unmatched accuracy in measuring range, velocity, and reflectivity. By utilizing state-of-the-art silicon photonic chips that are smaller than a fingertip, our sensors redefine performance while remaining cost-effective for seamless integration into various systems.
Our innovative technology is set to revolutionize the traditional landscape of bulky, expensive, and power-hungry LiDAR systems, making precision sensing easily accessible for widespread applications in robotics, autonomous vehicles, drones, industrial automation, and much more.
The Opportunity
We are on the lookout for a Senior Production Test Engineer to spearhead the design and implementation of high-throughput, scalable test infrastructure for end-of-line testing of our integrated LiDAR sensor. In this pivotal role, you will engineer robust testing methodologies aimed at ensuring mass production efficiency for our LiDAR units. This position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams including Systems, Photonics, Electrical, Firmware, and Manufacturing Engineering, ensuring optimal performance, yield, and reliability throughout the production lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Formulate and execute end-of-line (EOL) test strategies for LiDAR sensors, validating performance metrics such as range, velocity, and reflectivity.
Create automated test fixtures and software to facilitate both in-line and EOL testing in a production environment.
Adapt lab-level validation techniques into effective and scalable production tests across optical, electrical, and mixed-signal domains.
Collaborate with external contract manufacturers and testing vendors to establish and expand the production test infrastructure; support factory setup and operator training.
Enhance test coverage, throughput, and cost efficiency in both low- and medium-volume manufacturing settings.
Lead investigations into root causes of test failures and work collaboratively across teams to implement corrective measures.
Take ownership of and continuously improve statistical process control (SPC), yield tracking, and test data analytics throughout production.
Assist in reliability and environmental testing (e.g., thermal cycling, vibration, shock) for product qualification.
