Your Impact:
The Senior Unified Communications Engineer plays a crucial role in designing and developing integrated voice, video, and collaboration networks. You will collaborate with Unified Communications Engineering teams to ensure the effective delivery of functional systems. Additionally, you will assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting issues across voice and video system clusters and endpoints. Your ability to quickly address software and hardware concerns will be invaluable, as will your skill in replicating issues for internal analysis and creating precise technical documentation to provide feedback to developers and vendors.
Your Responsibilities:
- Analyze Unified Communications networks including voice, video, and collaboration systems, focusing on engineering, planning, design, evaluation, selection, and upgrades.
- Design, develop, and implement Cisco collaboration endpoint technologies, including VoIP endpoints, Cisco Codecs, DX, and RoomKits for collaborative meeting environments (CMS), as well as Cisco Unified Communications Call Manager (CUCM) version 14 or higher and Cisco Unified Communications Manager IM and Presence (Jabber).
- Plan system updates and manage scheduled outages.
- Configure systems and user environments effectively.
- Guide the development of ongoing technologies and engineering tasks related to Unified Communications and User-Facing Services.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve system issues independently.
- Utilize knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Visio, and various office suites.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of relevant system technologies.
- Participate in special projects as needed.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to junior systems engineers.
- Develop procedures and documentation for managing, deploying, and implementing various baseline hardware/images and system updates.
