Education and Experience Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. A minimum of six years of experience in user experience research and web design; additional education may substitute for experience. Essential Skills:Proficient in U. S. Web Design Systems and at least one Content Management System (CMS) such as Drupal. Advanced capability in documenting and creating information design concepts through wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes, and task flow diagrams. Extensive experience in usability testing, including the preparation of test plans, facilitating sessions, and analyzing and reporting data. Expertise in managing user experience feedback activities, including surveys and interviews.

Ripple Effect is on the lookout for a skilled Senior User Experience (UX/UI) Designer to enhance our digital presence through innovative web solutions. This role involves collaborating with the National Science Foundation (NSF) Web Team to effectively manage and create engaging content for NSF.gov and the NSF Employee Portal.

Your expertise in user experience and web design will be pivotal in crafting compelling web layouts and ensuring a seamless user journey. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and are eager to make a significant impact, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design intuitive and visually appealing webpage layouts in accordance with web design best practices, WCAG 2.0/Section 508 standards, and federal plain language guidelines.
  • Deliver exceptional customer support, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and tracking all requests via our ticketing system (ServiceNow and Microsoft Lists).
  • Conduct thorough UX research, create wireframes, prototypes, and task flows, and lead usability testing to inform user-centered design decisions.
  • Provide guidance on web design best practices, ensuring clarity, consistency, and compliance with accessibility standards.
  • Engage in special projects and undertake other related tasks as assigned.
