Role overview

The Senior Visual Development Artist will join the Visual Development team in London. This position combines creative leadership with hands-on artistry, shaping the look and feel of major projects. The role involves guiding technical innovation, mentoring peers, and addressing complex visual challenges across a range of styles.

What you will do

  • Lead the creation of visual development imagery, setting quality standards across both hyper-realistic and stylized work.
  • Champion the use of generative tools such as ComfyUI, defining best practices for their integration into production workflows.
  • Apply advanced Nuke compositing skills to develop concepts that inform the VFX pipeline.
  • Encourage the adoption of new technologies, including Gaussian Splatting, to keep Framestore at the forefront of the industry.
  • Work closely with supervisors and the Head of Department to shape the direction of Visual Development and ensure smooth transitions into 2D and 3D production.
  • Communicate complex creative and technical ideas clearly to artists, directors, producers, and other senior stakeholders.
  • Support a positive team culture through mentorship, sharing knowledge, and raising craft standards within the department.
