The Senior Voice User Interface (VUI) Designer plays a crucial role in crafting user-friendly voice experiences for Interactive Voice Response (IVR) applications that utilize both speech and DTMF (Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency) channels. This position is responsible for designing intuitive call flows and conversational interactions, ensuring that IVR solutions are efficient, easy to navigate, and aligned with overarching business objectives.
This role requires close collaboration with Product Owners, IVR Engineers, Application Architects, and speech scientists. It serves as a bridge between customer experience design and technical implementation, transforming requirements into well-defined call flows, design specifications, and user stories that direct development and refinement efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop user-centric IVR designs for speech and DTMF applications.
- Collect and analyze business and user requirements for IVR systems.
- Design comprehensive call flows for IVR experiences utilizing speech and DTMF.
- Produce detailed design specifications and documentation for IVR implementations.
- Work alongside Product Owners to enhance and perfect voice user experiences.
- Draft user stories for developers and speech scientists to bring designs to life.
- Assist speech scientists with grammar design and tuning processes.
- Conduct usability tests and evaluate results to enhance IVR performance.
- Optimize IVR applications to improve recognition accuracy and overall user experience.
- Effectively communicate design reasoning and methodologies to stakeholders.
