The Senior Voice User Interface (VUI) Designer plays a pivotal role in crafting user-friendly and engaging voice experiences for Interactive Voice Response (IVR) applications, utilizing both speech recognition and DTMF (Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency) inputs. This position is integral in designing seamless call flows and conversational interactions, ensuring IVR solutions are user-centric, efficient, and aligned with strategic business objectives.
In this role, collaboration is key. You will work alongside Product Owners, IVR Engineers, Application Architects, and linguistics experts. Your expertise will help bridge the gap between customer experience design and technical execution by transforming complex requirements into coherent call flows, detailed design specifications, and user stories that inform development efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop user-centered IVR designs that leverage both speech and DTMF technology.
- Collect and analyze business and user requirements for IVR applications.
- Design comprehensive call flows for speech and DTMF-driven IVR experiences.
- Produce detailed design specifications and documentation for IVR implementations.
- Work closely with Product Owners to enhance and refine voice user experiences.
- Draft user stories that guide developers and speech scientists in executing design concepts.
- Assist speech scientists with grammar design and tuning processes.
- Conduct usability tests and evaluate outcomes to enhance IVR performance.
- Optimize IVR applications for improved recognition accuracy and user satisfaction.
- Articulate design rationale and methodologies to stakeholders effectively.
