About the Role
The Shipping Associate plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth processing of all incoming and outgoing shipments. This position entails maintaining an organized and clean workspace, validating product quality, and ensuring that all necessary documentation is correctly completed for each order. Attention to detail, safe handling of materials, and effective communication with the production team are essential to meet customer expectations and production timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping:
- Carefully package and wrap all products to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify accuracy of shipping documentation through ERP systems to ensure correct quantities and items are dispatched.
- Generate accurate bills of lading while keeping shipping documents organized.
- Monitor conveyor lines, remove finished products, and load them into trailers or designated storage areas.
- Conduct quality inspections of products and packaging prior to shipment.
- Prepare pallets for delivery by stretch wrapping and securing them.
- Track essential daily shipping items, providing status updates to the production team.
- Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move materials within the warehouse.
- Manage recycling processes for materials as necessary, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations while maintaining a tidy workspace.
Receiving:
- Process all incoming shipments, confirming counts and quality against documentation.
- Distribute materials or parts to production areas as required.
- Perform visual inspections on received items for accuracy and quality assurance.
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
Material Handling and Inventory:
- Conduct regular inventory checks and assist in stock management to ensure optimal supply levels.
