About the job
Saronic Technologies is at the forefront of enhancing maritime autonomy, committed to crafting advanced solutions that optimize operations at sea through intelligent platforms.
Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled Shipyard Optimization Manager to act as a technical expert in shipyard build strategies, facility design, manufacturing engineering, operational workflows, and automation integration.
This senior-level subject matter expert (SME) role is pivotal in defining the methodologies for ship construction and ensuring that facilities, equipment, automation, and operations are cohesively aligned with a throughput-oriented production system.
The primary focus of this position is to ensure that facility designs are informed by production logic, rather than conforming build strategies to existing infrastructure.
Core Responsibilities
Establish shipyard build strategies based on vessel class, detailing requirements for panel lines, sub-assembly, block assembly, and pre-outfitting depth.
Review and assess facility layouts and spatial designs.
Incorporate manufacturing engineering principles into facility and process designs.
Identify and validate automation opportunities that provide a structural advantage.
Provide guidance on major equipment and crane selection strategies.
Translate technical trade-offs into clear decision-making frameworks for leadership.
Required Experience & Background
Over 10 years of experience in shipyard facilities, manufacturing engineering, and operations.
Demonstrated expertise in designing or transforming shipyard facilities.
In-depth understanding of block construction, heavy lift operations, and material flow.
Strongly Preferred Experience
Experience with greenfield shipyard projects or significant brownfield re-architecture initiatives.
Background in high-throughput global shipyards or equivalent heavy industries.
Experience with automated panel lines and block assembly halls.
