Strong foundation in numerical modeling and simulation. Experience with CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and/or multi-physics simulations is a plus.

About the job

ASM International is seeking a Simulation and Modeling Intern for Fall 2026 in Phoenix, Arizona. This paid, full-time internship runs for 12 weeks, beginning in January or February 2027 and ending in April or May 2027. The position is on-site and designed for students currently enrolled in a full-time academic program. Recent graduates not returning to school are encouraged to consider ASM's Early Career roles. International students should consult their school's international office to confirm eligibility before applying.

Role overview

This internship centers on simulation and modeling work that supports the semiconductor industry. Interns will join projects that combine engineering analysis with hands-on modeling techniques.

What you will do

  • Contribute to simulation projects focused on semiconductor applications.
  • Participate in the design of experiments (DOE) studies.
  • Use predictive reduced-order modeling to support engineering analysis.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field.
  • Strong foundation in numerical modeling and simulation.
  • Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and/or multi-physics simulations is considered a plus.
