QualificationsA degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience. Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Linux. Proficient in CI/CD methodologies, preferably with GitLab CI or GitHub Actions. Experience with observability tools, ideally within the Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana stack. Strong software engineering background, ideally with languages such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Go. Exceptional troubleshooting skills; each application migration will present unique challenges. Experience with public cloud platforms, particularly AWS. Fluency in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. A self-motivated approach, with an emphasis on high-quality standards. Willingness to embrace change, learn new skills, and share innovative ideas.

About the Role

Swisscom’s cloud transformation team in Rotterdam guides business teams as they shift to cloud-native solutions and migrate applications to an internal AWS-based platform. The Site Reliability Engineer plays a central part in these efforts, supporting teams as they move through each stage of this transition.

What You Will Do

  • Take part in application migration activities to Swisscom’s AWS-based platform
  • Support business teams as they adopt cloud-native technologies
  • Work closely with colleagues across disciplines to improve and use automation tools
  • Help build and maintain documentation and knowledge for migration teams
  • Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices, blending software engineering with operations
  • Focus on GitOps CI/CD, observability, and automation to streamline processes
