Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field. A minimum of 4 years of Python development experience in the financial industry. A collaborative team player with exceptional communication skills. Proficiency with database management systems and related technologies, particularly SQL. Understanding of traded financial instruments, including Equity, FX, Credit, or Rates. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with the FIX protocol. Experience in data engineering using Python with pandas, R, or Julia. Knowledge of KDB+/q.

About the job

Risk Technology is at the forefront of developing essential services and systems that support Squarepoint’s systematic and quantitative trading strategies. This includes real-time risk controls, position/inventory/P&L monitoring, internal order routing, and various pre and post-trading services.

Risk Data Pipelines is focused on creating robust software solutions built on the core Risk Technology platform, designed to efficiently handle market or asset-class specific processing. Key responsibilities include:

  • Trade Data Ingress: Normalizing and streaming trade data from trading platforms like Bloomberg, Fidessa, and SpiderRock into Squarepoint's systems.
  • Trade Data Egress: Providing feeds to third-party platforms to ensure trade booking accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Services and Analytics: Developing tools used by investment and quantitative teams to assess risk exposure, P&L, and enhance capital efficiency.
  • Automation of Trading Operations: Supporting business growth through the management of options & futures expiry and automating trade, position, and P&L reconciliations.

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into hedge fund operations through close collaboration with trading and quantitative teams. As a developer, you will:

  • Design, develop, and deliver high-quality, maintainable software that is critical to the business.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and colleagues to gather requirements, define architecture and technologies, identify and resolve bottlenecks, and implement functionality.
  • Lead design discussions and mentor fellow team members.
  • Engage in level 2 support activities.
