About the HD Maps Team The HD Maps group focuses on geospatial big-data analytics and delivers insights for a range of industries. The team builds and maintains scalable cloud applications, primarily on AWS and Spark, that support Mapbox’s high-precision mapping products. These products serve Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Autonomous Vehicles (AV), and other GIS data clients. Work spans data and system analysis, cloud architecture, and performance and cost assessments. What You Will Do Initiate, design, and develop product roadmaps for algorithmic components in cloud-based applications. Write code for algorithmic stages using Python, SQL, AWS, and Spark, with a focus on scalability. Collaborate with R&D teams to integrate analytics into mapping products. Work with engineering teams to ensure product development aligns with strategic objectives. Communicate directly with customers and automotive OEMs in the EU, US, Japan, and China, as well as suppliers such as Tier 1 automotive companies and mapping firms. Coordinate with business development to align product design and roadmaps with customer and market needs. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, GIS, or a related field.
