Position Overview
Palantir's software is the backbone of operations for the U. S. military and its allies, enhancing capabilities across various domains, including intelligence and support activities. Our defense applications serve as vital tools used daily by thousands of military personnel, from the Pentagon to frontline operations. Engineers in this role will harness the extensive technical capabilities of Palantir's data modeling and AI technologies to create sophisticated, domain-specific workflows and interfaces that enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of warfighters.
This front-end engineering position focuses on integrating Palantir's Foundry and AIP technologies, application-specific backend services, and modern web technologies with specialized domain knowledge. Our teams are agile, selecting the best tools for each task rather than adhering to a fixed tech stack. Common technologies include React for standard DOM rendering, Maplibre and/or Three.js for geospatial and 3D rendering, and Redux for state management, alongside tools like Conjure for API management and OSDK for Foundry platform interactions. Our engineers leverage a robust ecosystem of in-house libraries and tools to facilitate cross-application messaging, live data streaming, and advanced access control, among other specialized functions. Defense application developers both utilize and contribute to these reusable tools as part of their engineering responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the defense application team, you will take ownership of user-facing feature enhancements and additions. Our product teams are proactive, and you will engage hands-on with clients and field engineers to design solutions that meet evolving needs and deliver swift value in dynamic environments. The fast-paced nature of the defense applications team results in shorter project cycles, allowing for rapid innovation and adaptation.
