About the job

About Neuralink:

At Neuralink, we are pioneering the development of advanced neurotechnology devices that facilitate a bi-directional interface with the human brain. Our mission is to restore mobility to individuals with paralysis, provide sight to the visually impaired, and fundamentally transform the way humans engage with technology.

Team Overview:

The Robot Manufacturing Software team is crucial to Neuralink’s ability to produce neurosurgical robots on an unprecedented scale. Each robot that is sent out is meticulously tracked, assembled, calibrated, and verified through the innovative software that you will create. This serves as the core infrastructure that enables our transition from initial production to addressing genuine clinical requirements.

As part of a small, highly collaborative team, you will assume the role of the primary architect of our robot manufacturing software stack. As our company expands, the complexity of the systems will increase, and you will be at the forefront of designing and building the solutions that will support this growth.

We pride ourselves on maintaining a close-knit, high-trust environment. You will enjoy significant autonomy to tackle challenging problems while meeting high expectations.

We are committed to rapid progress in meeting clinical demands and keeping pace with deployments. The work schedule can be intense, with 60-hour weeks being the norm at times. This role requires a strong commitment and may not be suitable for everyone.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Software Engineer in the Robot Manufacturing Team, you will collaborate directly with both robot engineers and surgical engineers to grasp their needs and deliver effective solutions. You will not be isolated from the problem; rather, you will be integral to the resolution process.

Your tasks will vary from focused coding sessions to collaborative problem-solving with engineers to enhance calibration processes, ensuring that you are consistently close to the challenges and delivering timely solutions. Key projects include:

  • Inventory and Warehouse Management Systems: Tracking every component in a neurosurgical robot, from raw materials to finished assembly.
  • Lifecycle Management Software: Assisting engineers in the building, calibration, verification, and maintenance of robots throughout their entire lifecycle.
  • Dynamic Development: Addressing a broad and evolving range of challenges as you take real ownership in shaping the direction of our software stack.

About Neuralink

Neuralink is at the forefront of neurotechnology innovation, dedicated to creating groundbreaking devices that bridge the gap between the human brain and technology. Our goal is to restore movement and sight, fundamentally changing the lives of individuals with disabilities while enhancing human-computer interaction.
