Internship Responsibilities:

As a Software Engineer Intern on our Robot Software Team, you will play a crucial role in developing software that runs directly on our surgical robots, ensuring real-world functionality beyond mere simulation. You will work on integrating actuated devices with microelectromechanical systems and implementing novel surgical procedures, with a strong focus on precision, reliability, and fail-safe designs. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Creating safety-critical software for robotic systems, contributing directly to software that is ready for surgical applications.
  • Taking ownership of significant projects from design through implementation, with guidance from experienced team members.
  • Proactively resolving issues that arise during operations to support non-software teams in the seamless functioning of the robot.
  • Collaborating across various engineering disciplines, integrating software with mechanical, electrical, biological, and neuroscience teams.
