About the job

About Neuralink:

At Neuralink, we are pioneering cutting-edge technology that establishes a two-way interface with the human brain. Our innovative devices aim to restore motor function to those who are paralyzed, provide sight to the visually impaired, and transform human interaction with digital environments.

Team Overview:

As part of the internal applications team, you will collaborate with an interdisciplinary group of experts — including neuroscientists, physicists, chip designers, pathologists, and mechanical engineers — to develop Neuralink's central data aggregation and analysis platform. This platform is designed to collect, organize, and visualize a wide array of data, such as neural signal recordings, brain histology images, and both experimental and operational data. Our projects are essential for advancing engineering and experimentation within Neuralink.

Work Environment:

We function like a dynamic internal startup, rapidly developing software solutions to address critical challenges faced by the company. Our work typically involves creating full-stack tools, although we embrace a variety of technology stacks.

As a cohesive and high-trust team, you will have significant ownership over your projects and the freedom to tackle complex problems, coupled with high expectations for performance.

We are moving swiftly to meet clinical demands and support ongoing deployments. Expect to work around 60 hours a week during peak times; this role is not suited for everyone.

Position Overview:

This internship offers a high degree of autonomy and ownership. You will work side by side with engineers and scientists to develop software that has a direct and meaningful impact on Neuralink's mission. Depending on the day, you may spend time coding independently or collaborating with colleagues to comprehend new workflows and devise appropriate tools.

We are seeking adaptable software engineers who are passionate about designing and implementing sophisticated software solutions and thrive in an environment that encourages innovative problem-solving.

As an intern, you will contribute to applications that will enhance Neuralink's efficiency significantly, including:
