Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and talented Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our engineering team to:
- Enhance the Tailscale product by contributing to both our open-source client code and backend services, with a focus on networking features and optimizations.
- Take charge of the entire product lifecycle, from initial coding to product ideation and strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers and product managers to develop features that elevate our networking capabilities.
As a fully remote and early-stage company, we seek a highly motivated individual who can propel our product forward. The ability to think critically, collaborate with technically skilled teams, and work asynchronously is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a team of engineers to design, build, test, and document core networking software components.
- Develop and optimize product features, particularly in our control plane, relay infrastructure, and networking protocols.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex networking issues in various environments.
- Own the operational aspects of Tailscale’s services by ensuring observability, participating in incident response, and managing customer support escalations.
- Analyze and enhance the efficiency, scalability, and stability of our networking systems and resources.
- Adopt a security-first mindset in both design and implementation to ensure robust networking components.
