Qualifications

You will:Develop metrics to assess the performance and driving characteristics of the Waymo Driver, employing various techniques such as statistics, mathematics, physics, algorithms, and machine learning. Employ innovative simulation methods and analyze real-world driving logs to evaluate driving performance. Create and implement strategies that strengthen the link between changes in onboard software and the outcomes of simulations. Promote code quality and best practices within a large and intricate codebase. Analyze data to provide recommendations for improving the quality and interpretability of metrics. Collaborate with fellow engineers, data scientists, statisticians, and leadership to deliver evaluation products and facilitate data-informed decision-making. You have:A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics, or another quantitative discipline. A strong motivation to navigate complex systems and address open-ended challenges until resolution. At least 1 year of industry experience, including the ability to work with and modify extensive codebases utilizing various programming languages.
