About Atomic Semi
Atomic Semi is revolutionizing semiconductor fabrication with a cutting-edge, compact facility.
Leveraging existing technologies and strategic simplifications, we are creating our own tools to enable rapid iteration and enhancement of our processes.
Our team is composed of talented, hands-on engineers across various disciplines including mechanical, electrical, hardware, computer, and process engineering. Together, we are committed to owning the entire stack from atomic-level design to architectural implementation. We are optimistic about the future and are eager to push the boundaries of technological innovation.
Smaller, faster, and self-built solutions are our ethos.
Our lab is equipped with advanced technology, including 3D printers, a variety of microscopes, e-beam writers, and general fabrication equipment. If there’s something we need, we’ll invent it ourselves.
Founded by Sam Zeloof and Jim Keller, Atomic Semi combines Sam's innovative spirit of garage chip-making with Jim's 40 years of industry leadership.
About the Role
We are looking for enthusiastic Software Engineering Interns to join our Fab team this fall. The internship will commence in September, with a preferred duration of 4 to 8 months. You will be tasked with developing full-stack applications, tools, and infrastructure tailored for a software-defined semiconductor fab.
This role is multi-faceted and hands-on, focusing on controlling semiconductor fabrication equipment and analyzing data related to semiconductor process development. Your contributions will directly assist engineers in both developing and operating the fab. If you thrive on building intricate features from the ground up and enjoy quickly mastering new domains, this is an excellent opportunity for professional growth.
We prioritize getting projects built and tested in days or weeks, not months. As part of your application, please provide a portfolio (e.g., GitHub) showcasing the projects you have developed! We value demonstrable software engineering excellence and a passion for learning.
