KEY RESPONSIBILITIESThe Software Engineering Team Lead will report to the Senior Director of Software Engineering and will be an integral part of a team dedicated to designing and developing both web-based and mobile software products for Common App. This role involves providing technical direction and mentoring a team of Software Developers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software that meets the needs of our community. QUALIFICATIONSMust reside in the United States. Willingness to travel for the biannual Common App Retreat. Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.8-10 years of progressive experience in software development.6-8 years of experience in a managerial role. TECHNICAL SKILLSWeb & Frontend Development:Advanced proficiency in Web Application Development using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern SPA frameworks such as Angular and TypeScript. Ability to define architecture and influence frontend standards across the organization. Backend & API Development:Expertise in backend and API development using REST with C#, . NET Core, ORMs, and applying Domain Driven Design and Dependency Injection. Guidance on architecture and best practices across various teams. Proficiency in relational and non-relational databases, including MySQL and NoSQL data stores (e.g., AWS DynamoDB), with the capability to advise on database strategy and enterprise-level implementations. Cloud & DevOps:Demonstrated expertise in Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) using tools such as AWS CodeBuild, AWS Lambda, CloudFormation, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and source control systems (GitHub), contributing to the organizational CI/CD strategy.
