ROLE EXPECTATIONS
As a Software Systems Validation Engineer, you'll spearhead the comprehensive evaluation of Zipline's state-of-the-art autonomous drone delivery system. This role encompasses various domains such as sensor drivers, perception, navigation, guidance and control, motion planning, power management, and actuator control.
In this capacity, you will develop tools, metrics, and visualizations to illuminate capability enhancements, identify gaps, and track regressions, thereby expediting engineering decisions for large-scale deployments and expanding operational domains. Your responsibilities may also include assessing aircraft performance, delivery operations, docking systems, and fleet orchestration.
You will be instrumental in continuously refining validation practices, pinpointing areas for improvement in tools, methodologies, and processes to boost validation coverage, efficiency, and precision, all while sustaining high development and deployment velocity. Collaboration will be key as you work closely with our embedded and autonomy software teams, systems engineering, data platform, and test infrastructure teams to ensure optimal software performance.
