Role overview

Databricks is hiring a Solutions Architect for its Canada team, with a focus on supporting Digital Native customers. This role works closely with advanced data engineering and data science teams, shaping how organizations use big data technologies. Reporting to the Field Engineering Manager, the position involves collaborating with customers, product teams, and other customer-facing staff to design effective architectures and solutions using the Databricks platform and APIs.

Responsibilities include providing guidance on the competitive landscape, recommending best practices, and supporting strategy implementation. Building technical advocates within customer organizations is also a key part of the job.

What you will do

  • Work with the sales team to offer technical leadership, demonstrating how Databricks addresses customer business challenges.
  • Consult on big data architectures and deliver proof of concepts for strategic projects, such as data engineering, data science, machine learning, and SQL analysis workflows. Validate integrations with cloud platforms and third-party tools.
  • Collaborate with other Solutions Architects to share knowledge and support both colleagues and users.
  • Build deep expertise in Databricks-related open-source projects like Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow, promote their adoption, and encourage contributions from the developer community.
