About the job

Oligo is pioneering a revolutionary approach to spacecraft manufacturing by developing a cutting-edge, manufacturing-in-the-loop foundation model that automates spacecraft design and production globally. Our innovative strategy enables clients to concentrate fully on their technology and mission goals while we manage every aspect of the process, from design and manufacturing to launch and operations. By harnessing the power of AI-driven generative design and automated manufacturing, our team, composed of ex-MIT, Harvard, and NASA JPL experts, is dedicated to delivering the most advanced payload-specific spacecraft in weeks rather than months.

With esteemed advisors on our board and recent investments from top firms like Lux Capital, we are continuously seeking exceptional talent — enthusiastic builders, quick learners, and ambitious engineers. Whether your interests lie in spacecraft systems, avionics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or advanced manufacturing, you'll collaborate across various disciplines on real missions that launch, operate in orbit, and achieve international scalability.

We combine elite AI/ML expertise with top-tier satellite engineering to fundamentally rethink how space systems are constructed, starting from first principles. No bureaucracy, no outdated methodologies.

If you believe you align with our vision, we are eager to connect with you!

Spacecraft Engineer Intern (Flight Software)

Do you have a passion for the synergy between software and hardware? Are you excited about the prospect of your algorithms functioning in space? Do you excel at tackling complex challenges in real-time, high-reliability environments? Join our dynamic team as a Spacecraft Engineer Intern and contribute to the development of foundational software for our next generation of spacecraft.

In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying the essential software that empowers our spacecraft to execute their missions. If you have expertise in F-prime, real-time operating systems, and creating robust embedded solutions, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

As a Spacecraft Engineer Intern, you will collaborate on the development, testing, and deployment of our spacecraft’s Flight Software (FSW) stack. Working closely with experienced mentors, you will support:

  • Flight Software: Design and implement flight software components using NASA/JPL’s open-source F-prime framework, focusing on resource-constrained embedded systems.

  • Hardware Interfaces: Develop and troubleshoot software that interfaces with hardware components (sensors, actuators, radios) using protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, and others.
