About the job
ABOUT ROCKET LAB
Rocket Lab is a pioneering space enterprise committed to providing responsive launch services, comprehensive spacecraft design, manufacturing, payload integration, satellite components, and more, all aimed at democratizing access to space. The rockets and satellites we engineer and launch facilitate some of the most groundbreaking and essential space missions worldwide, advancing scientific research, Earth monitoring, climate change initiatives, national security, and innovative technology demonstrations.
Our Electron rocket has emerged as the second most frequently launched U. S. rocket each year, delivering over 230 satellites to orbit. Meanwhile, we are developing Neutron, our forthcoming medium-lift, reusable launch vehicle intended for larger satellite constellations. Our Space Systems division is responsible for designing and producing an extensive array of satellites, payloads, and components, including spacecraft selected for NASA missions to the Moon and Mars, as well as components utilized in the James Webb Space Telescope.
SPACE SYSTEMS
At Rocket Lab, we do more than launch rockets, we are shaping the future of space exploration. Our Space Systems team is responsible for constructing everything from complete spacecraft and precision payloads to the essential components and subsystems that enable them to thrive in the harshness of space, including solar panels, flight software, star trackers, optical systems, separation systems, radios, and more.
Our team has successfully enabled over 1,700 missions, ranging from interplanetary exploration and in-space manufacturing to national defense initiatives. We have collaborated with esteemed partners such as NASA, the Space Development Agency, and the U. S. Space Force to build spacecraft, payloads, and components for missions aimed at the Moon and Mars. Whether it’s a single high-performance spacecraft, a constellation, or the vertical integration of components that facilitate their journey to space, our world-class Space Systems team is empowering some of the most ambitious space missions ever undertaken.
SPACECRAFT MECHANICAL ENGINEER II
Located at Rocket Lab's headquarters in Long Beach, CA, the Spacecraft Mechanical Engineer II will play a pivotal role in developing high-performance, lightweight satellite deployment systems, mechanisms, and configurations for satellite buses.
