Our Mission
We are seeking a dedicated Staff Cloud Security Engineer to enhance our Security & Compliance team. As part of our diverse, globally distributed team, you will play a crucial role in enabling all Mapbox engineers to create secure-by-default systems. Your responsibilities will include developing scanning and threat detection systems to safeguard Mapbox's AWS-native, container-based cloud deployments across seven global regions, including China. You will also evaluate new vendor integrations and product launches through risk assessments and oversee our bug bounty program, drawing upon the expertise of a global network of security researchers. Additionally, you will establish and uphold core standards for security, quality, and privacy, ensuring compliance through automation.
Your Contributions
We are excited to welcome your enthusiasm for scalable, engineering-driven security. In this role, you will:
- Perform comprehensive AWS security reviews to ensure adherence to best practices.
- Propose security enhancement recommendations and collaborate with production support teams to implement these improvements in AWS.
- Work closely with the Lead Security Architect to refine our custom-built security tool bots.
- Conduct thorough security reviews of application code, partnering with developers to promote secure coding practices from the outset.
- Collaborate with internal product teams to embed a secure-by-default design into their offerings.
